A FURTHER 20 people are due to appear in court to be charged in connection with a police investigation into the disruption of the road network in Thurrock.

The group have been postal requisitioned to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Friday, 27 May.

Eight of those who will be charged relate to disruption caused at junction 30 of the M25 on 30 September, 2021. They will be charged with obstruction of the highway.

The remaining 12 will be charged with causing a public nuisance. Those charges relate to disruption of the road at junction 31 of the M25 on 13 September, 2021.

Officers have worked closely with the Crown Prosecution Service as part of the ongoing investigation into the disruption in Essex and in other counties.
