TO mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee MP Stephen Metcalfe has issued all school children in his South Basildon and East Thurrock constituency a certificate to mark her achievement.

Recently he visited Corringham Primary School to present pupils with a souvenir copy of the certificate for the school to keep and to take part in their Jubilee Street Party.

Mr Metcalfe said: "The Queen's Jubilee not only celebrates HM Elizabeth II as the longest reigning monarch we've had as a nation, it is also a time to celebrate everything that is great about Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

"I remember the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977, and it was a wonderful memory for myself and I wanted to do something for school pupils to be able to remember this excellent occasion too.

"It was also great to visit the school, chat to the children and thank staff for all they do to nurture our children. It was a truly fantastic afternoon."
