AFTER another very warm day (Wednesday, 15 June) residents in Thurrock and South Essex have been warned things are going to get even hotter - and the Met Office has gone for far as issuing a yellow weather warning for the region.

Office has issued a Heat Health Warning for a heatwave affecting central and eastern England, including Thurrock, running through to Sunday, 19 June.

There is high confidence for temperatures to rise significantly through the second half of this week, becoming hot or very hot. The peak of the heat is expected on Friday, with daytime temperatures likely to reach over 30°C across large parts of central and southern England.

Another warm night is expected in similar parts on Friday night, before cooler and fresher conditions arrive during Saturday.

Cooler conditions may arrive at some point over the weekend, but warm weather may be experienced across far southern areas on Saturday, before a more definitive return to more seasonable temperatures for all regions of England by Sunday.
