THURROCK MP Jackie Doyle-Price was among those paying tribute to war hero Frank Elliott as he left the borough on his final journey today.

Frank, 95, recently passed away and his funeral service, restricted to a handful of mourners under coronavirus legislation, took place at Corbets Tey.

En-route to the service the cortege passed the RAFA Club at lunchtime where members paid respects by the roadside and raised a glass of his favourite tipple, Guinness, in homage as he went by.

Ms Doyle-Price had paid tribute to Frank, and two other members of the club who died recently. You can read her words here.

And Thurrock Nub News carried a eulogy to Frank, detailing some of his service, which you can read here.
