PLANS have been submitted to Thurrock Council to turn a mid terraced family home into a house of multiple occupancy for up to nine people.

The property is currently a five bedroom home on Toronto Road, Tilbury. The application (which can be read in full here) is to convert it by way of a 3m extension to incorporate a new kitchen and dining area.

The ground floor living room will become a bedroom for two people And another single person habitable room will be created on the left side of the entrance. There will be shower/WC facility at ground floor. There will be living area, dining & kitchen with access to the garden in the extension.

There will be two single occupancy bedrooms and one double occupancy bedroom at first floor level with one bath/WC and one WC. There will be two single occupancy bedrooms at loft floor level with common shower and toilet.
