Mystery surrounds police operation in Stifford Clays.

POLICE have been unable to give any further information on an incident in Stifford Clays which brought about a high officer presence and a forensic operation that lasted almost 24 hours.

Residents in Crammavill Street in Stifford Clays on Sunday (27 November) afternoon. Officers entered a flat above the parade of shops and were there overnight, with a further presecen throughout Monday with teams of forensic officers going in and out.

The incident was led by the Met Police, with assistance from the Essex forc ewho said they could not comment.

A spokesperson for the Met said: "This activity actually relates to an ongoing Met Police investigation. I'm afraid that for strong operational reasons we are unable to discuss the matter further at this time."
