A CREATIVE community group has brought some festive magic to families by creating some special decorations to celebrate the Christmas season.
Thanks to the talented members of the Knit and Natter group at Grays Library, a knitted nativity scene was created to be put on display at Thameside Family Hub and Stifford Family Hub.
Plans for the knitted nativity scene started in September, with members quickly getting to work with their needles and yarn before the creations were sent off to Norfolk for the faces to be added.
Knit and Natter groups meet regularly at libraries across Thurrock, offering a welcoming warm space for residents of all abilities to share their passion for knitting and crochet, swap tips, and make new friends.
The groups are hosted at libraries across the borough, including Belhus Library, Blackshots Library, Chadwell Library, Corringham Library, East Tilbury Library, Grays Library and Tilbury Library. Please check with your local library as spaces may be limited.
Family Hubs offer support to families with children aged 0 to 18 years-old, or to 25 years-old for young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND), including health services, play sessions and advice.
Family Hubs and libraries are hosting a range of festive activities throughout December, including Christmas crafts, storytimes, and Stay and Play sessions, giving families plenty of opportunities to celebrate the season together.
