GUESTS at a Christmas Day event in Corringham will have an extra special time thanks to the generosity of Lakeside's Dunelm store. 

As recently reported on Thurrock Nub News Mama's Cabin on St John's Way is opening up to offer Christmas lunch to elderly, lonely or vulnerable people.

Owner Louise Watkins and her team will be hosting the event which has been supported by local businesses and customers.

The story was spotted by staff at Dunhelm who invited Louise to the store to receive four shopping trolley loads of gifts for her Christmas Day guests.

"It's an incredible generous thing for them to do. I am so very grateful and I know that the people coming will be delighted.

"Whatever gifts are left will be distributed to residents at Collins House.

"We're all looking forward to a very special day."
