A MEETNG next week will introduce a new service for Thurrock people who suffer mental health issues.

Be My Buddy is a support network that is to be launched in the borough and residents are invited to a meeting next Wednesday (26 February) when they can learn about it.

The free event, at which refreshments will be provided, will take place at the Signpost Resource Centre on the second floor at Crown House, Crown Road, Grays, from 11am to 1.30pm.

At the meeting participants will get the chance to meet others who are seeking support.

The BeMyBuddy Foundation is a secure closed community website that connects everyone within a group.

It provides confidential conversation and texting to all members of a group to develop Buddies.

Carers, and those living with mental ill health, are able to connect to special interest groups to discuss challenges and enjoy mutual interests.

It is described as a website where families and carers find support by talking to known Buddies to build friendships that improve lives.
