A NEW shipping service linking one of Thurrock's ports with others around the North sea coastline has been announced.

The new weekly service, operated by Unifeeder, will start at DP World London Gateway at the end of February when The Anna G will call at DP World London Gateway.

The new service, which offers fast connectivity with northern England and Scotland as well as well Antwerp in Belgium and Dunkirk in France will take traffic of the roads of the UK and northern Europe.

Unifeeder became part of the DP World group in 2018 and DP World Head of UK Ports, James Leeson, says: "This service will open up trade opportunities by providing alternative connections for more remote locations with the deep-sea channels.

"It is also good news for the environment by offering more opportunities for cargo to be moved by sea reducing the footprint of land transport. This service is a great opportunity for customers looking to create smarter and more sustainable supply chains."
