A NEW medical facility will open in Grays over the weekend, with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring deputy mayor Cllr Steve Liddiard.

Sunday (22 March) marks the opening of MedicaPlus, the first fully private multidisciplinary clinic in the area and a project shaped by a growing need within the community for timely, high-quality healthcare that is both accessible and patient-focused.

The formal opening will take place at 2pm.

Iulia Popescu is a managing partner of the medical and dental practice which can be found at 15-17 Orsett Road.

She says: "Our vision for MedicaPlus has been to create a space where individuals and families can access a wide range of services under one roof, without the delays often associated with traditional pathways.

"As a fully private clinic, we are able to offer flexible appointments, minimal waiting times, and a more personalised approach to care.

"Our services include comprehensive dental treatments, private GP consultations, paediatrics, ENT, women's health, blood testing, and full-body ultrasound diagnostics — with further services to follow as we continue to grow.

"MedicaPlus is also the result of many years of experience in the healthcare sector.

As founders, Adrian Mateas and myself bring extensive backgrounds in healthcare management, having owned and operated clinics and worked as registered managers.

"For me personally, this project is especially meaningful, as I have been a local resident in the area for more than 10 years. It was important to create something that genuinely serves and supports the community we are part of.

"At its core, MedicaPlus is about giving people more choice and control over their healthcare.

"Whether it's a parent seeking reassurance for their child, a professional needing quick access to medical advice, or someone simply looking for a more streamlined and comfortable experience, we aim to provide care that fits around people's lives.
