VANDALS, possibly men riding on quad bikes, have uprooted new trees planted in Chadwell St Mary as part of the jubilee celebrations.

The damage on Chadwell Heath was spotted today (Thursday, 26 May) and local ward councillor Sara Muldowney has called in the council's environment team in to see they can save the saplings.

Cllr Muldowney reports: "I have heard from the tree officer who is sending out a team to replant the trees, if they can be saved.

"I have spoken to an eye witness who saw four adult men on two quad bikes who uprooted the trees at 3am this morning. One was red and one green.

"The red quad bike being ridden by two adult males has been sighted twice in the Tilbury area.

"Any sightings, please report to the police via 101 or Live Chat (blue button on the Essex Police website) so that the police can try and catch the culprits."
