POLICE are to take no further action against a woman involved in an incident in East Tilbury last week, which local people reported resulted in a man being stabbed.

That has not been confirmed by police, who have given sparse details about the incident which happened at a house on Calder on Thursday, 7 April, though neighbours were disturbed in the late evening beforehand.

A statement from Essex Police today (Wednesday, 13 April) says: "We were called to Calder, East Tilbury, shortly after 1am on Thursday, 7 April.

"Officers found a man injured in the property and arrested a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm without intent.

"She will face no further action."
