Noah on the run for NHS charities - his 999 challenge will end with a birthday!
A THURROCK youngster is aiming to celebrate his ninth birthday with completion of a testing 999 charity fundraising effort.
Noah Mayers will be nine on Saturday, 30 May and each morning from today (Thursday, 21 May) until then, he is undertaking a 9K run from his home in Dry Street, Langdon Hills.
That will be nine runs over nine days until he is nine – so he's called it his 999 Challenge. And it's all to raise funds for NHS charities.
The Horndon on the Hill Primary School pupil, who is running each day with dad Chris, says: "I think the NHS and all the people that work for it are amazing, and I wanted to try to raise some money for the NHS charity.
"In total I will run 81 km (or just over 50 miles), which will be quite hard work so it would really help me to keep going if people would donate whatever they can to this amazing charity!
"My daddy is going to be running with me, so I'll be safe! (as long as he can keep up!).
Noah and dad Chris will be setting out each morning around 8am and if you would like to watch out for them as they run from home through Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham and maybe give them a clapo and a cheer, you can see their route here.. And if you would like to support Noah's fundraising, you can make a donation on his Just Giving page via this link.
