THE latest case against notorious drunk Kelly Martin has dragged on through several weeks - and will now stretch into April.

Kelly, 46, of Oak Road, Grays, had been scheduled to attend magistrates court several times - going back to February, but she has not appeared. She has been repeatedly released on conditional bail to appear at newly set trail dates.

She is charged with being drunk and disorderly in Southend on 20 November last year, plus assaulting a female police officer who intervened.

Kelly, who gained national notoriety several years ago when she urinated on a war memorial, has admitted being drunk but denied the assault.

The trial has now been put back to 22 April.
