HAVING compromised and won a planning application to establish the principle of building on a local village green belt site an applicant has gone back to the council's planning team and wants to double the build!.

The council gave permission for the building of one home on the site to the south east of Linsteads on Orsett Road, Horndon on the Hill.

Now a new application has gone in.

It says: "This statement is submitted in support of a planning application for the demolition of the existing buildings and yard and construction of two dwellings, gardens and parking.

"This application follows an approval for one dwelling and a detached garage under 20/00745/FUL and which was approved in September 2020. This approved application was amended during the application process from two dwellings to one on account of concerns from the planning officer in respect of Green Belt considerations.

"Despite this approval, the applicant remains of the view that a scheme for two dwellings can still be acceptable on the site. Thus, this application represents a revised application for

Two houses and which will represent a more consolidated form of development, with the dwellings moved further north in order the buildings are solely contained within the built

part of the site.

"This new application represents an opportunity to deliver an additional dwelling to that approved under the 2020 application and which will have no greater harm to the green belt."

The full application and opportunity to comment can be found here.
