'Outstanding' work ethic of Orsett Heath students wins praise from head

ORSETT Heath Academy in Grays has announced the achievements of its first-ever cohort of GCSE students, describing them as 'outstanding'.
Success was across the board but there was notable success in English and Maths where more than three-quarters of the pupils passed.
A statement from the school says: "Despite facing unprecedented challenges, including the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the school having to operate out of temporary accommodation for four years prior to the new school building opening last year, the students exceeded expectations.
"Their results reflect not only academic success but also the strength of character and determination that define the new school community."
Sian Rawson, Head of School said: "This first cohort has laid a strong foundation for our future success. I am incredibly proud of what our students have accomplished.
"Their success is a fantastic achievement for our school and a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through hard work.
"We look forward to continuing to nurture and celebrate the talents of all our students in the years to come. "
