It happened close to the junction linking Scratton Road and Corringham Road.

Corringham Road was closed earlier this morning (Thursday, 21 May), while a forensic investigation took place but is now open.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We're investigating a collision in Scratton Road, Stanford-le-Hope, which was reported to us at 10.45pm last night, Wednesday 20 May.

"A van had collided with a pedestrian, a woman.
