Petition calls for action to stop damage to pavements and verges in Aveley

AN Aveley councillor has called on Thurrock Council to take action to bring an end to bad parking in her ward which is damaging pavements and verges.

Aveley and Uplands councillor Maureen Pearce presented a petition to last night's (Wednesday, 29 June) meeting of the borough council, saying considerable damage was being done in her neighbourhood around the Love Lane area and she and residents want it to stop.

She told the meeting her residents has called on her to tackle the problems of congestion and bad parking, saying: "Grass verges have been eroded and pavements have become unsafe and cracked.

"Thurrock Council should impose a parking scheme on that road."
