Plan to demolish bungalow and build large new home in village

PLANS have been submitted to demolish a small bungalow in a borough village and replace it with a five bedroom home.

The application is for the site of Blackthorn cottage on Orsett Road, Hordon on the Hill, which is currently the site of many similar large homes along the lines of the one being proposed.

The new property is described as being a standard large five bedroom house with a separate bathroom and en-suites to facilitate the five bedrooms.

A previous application for the demolition of the bungalow, which is described as being in poor structural condition was approved by officers in March last year, though the plan for a new detached home to 'provide adequate care capacity for aged and disabled members of society' was not advanced.

The previous approval contained no detail of the number of bedrooms in the home, but has established the principal of permitting development on the site, part of which is in the green belt - but it is not planned to build anything on that part.

It is unlikely the site developer will be required to make any contribution to local facilities, including education and health.

The full new application and the opportunity to comment can be found via this link.
