Police appeal for help and witnesses after man is charged with making threats

POLICE are searching for a possible witness, or anyone else with information, after an incident in Purfleet-on-Thames when threats were made.

A man had been arrested snd charged in connection with the incident on the Garrison estate last month.

A police statement says: "We are trying to trace a witness to an incident where it was reported threats in Purfleet.

"It was reported a man had been walking towards McColls on the Garrison Estate between 8am and 9am on 26 January.

"We believe a scaffolder working close by had heard these comments and we need to locate them and speak to them.

"We also need anyone else who has any information about the incident to contact us.

"Paul Chester, 27, of Long Court Purfleet, has been charged with intent to cause harassment, alarm, or distress using threatening, abusive or insulting words of behaviour and criminal damage.

"We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.
