POLICE have called on witnesses to a collision involving a car and motorbike that blocked a major road last evening to come forward.

The incident happened near the roundabout junction of Southend Road and One Tree Hill to the east of Corringham.

It happened at 8.45pm on Thursday 3 September and took place close to queueing traffic, which was related to a separate incident.

Southend Road was closed for some time while emergency services dealt with the incident.

A statement from Essex Police says: "At this stage, no arrests have been made and we're working to build a full picture of the incident and the moments leading up to it.

"We have spoken to a number of people who witnessed the incident and we're continuing to appeal for anyone who captured it on dashcam or CCTV footage to please come forward.

"Anyone with information should contact us as soon as possible, quoting incident 1384 of 3 September.
