POLICE have now reported that a man died in an incident on the M25 at Junction 30 in West Thurrock this morning (Tuesday, 8 November).

The incident followed an earlier protest by the JustStopOil campaign group but the two events are not related.

A statement from Essex Police says: "Officers were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at junction 30 of the M25 at around 9.45am today.

"Sadly the man, aged in his 40s, died at the scene. There were no suspicious circumstances.

"The incident was entirely unrelated to earlier disruption on overhead gantries.

"Traffic diversions have now been removed and the road is open again."
