POLICE investigators are probing a second serious incident in the east of Thurrock this evening where it has been reported that a man was stabbed and a woman assaulted.

It happened in Belmaine Avenue, Corringham this evening (Monday, 1 July) and came within a couple of hours of a stabbing in neighbouring Stanford.

The two incidents are not believed to be connected.

Residents in Belmaine Avenue have reported that an argument happened following an argument over a parking space, which became violent.

Police have as yet made no comment and the commanding officer at the scene, which is cordoned off, declined the opportunity to share any details including the time of the incident. The Essex Police press office has been asked for an update.
