JUST days after highlighting a motorist who was doing 130mph on the A13, Essex traffic cops have reminded drivers their cameras have not gone away and reported on two cars also topping three figures on the same road.
A New Year's Day message says: "Two drivers were stopped for speeding at more than 100mph on the A13 at Pitsea during a recent week of action targeting dangerous driving.
Officers were out across the county last week including on the A130, A414, and A13 as well as in places like Ramsden Heath, South Woodam Ferrers, Bicknacre, Harlow, and Basildon, tackling those who put others at risk on our roads.
"Across the county, we saw examples of extreme speeding, including:
- 63mph in a 40mph limit on Cranes Farm Road, Basildon
- Two drivers racing at 91mph in the same 40mph zone
- High speeds recorded on the A130, A414, and roads in Harlow, Ramsden Heath, Woodham Ferrers and Bicknacre
"In total, 435 offences were recorded during the operation.
"We also had plenty of positive interactions with one cyclist even shouted: "Merry Christmas, thank you for your support and for listening to us!"
"We will continue to be out across Essex in 2026, targeting those who pose a risk to the public and helping to keep everyone safe.
"How you can help:
"If you see dangerous driving or have dashcam footage of an incident, please report it via www.essex.police.uk/digital101 or use our Live Chat service, available 24/7. Together, we can make Essex's roads safer."
