Police probe Tilbury store raid

POLICE have launched an investigation following reports of a robbery at a store in the heart of Tilbury.

It happened shortly before 6.30pm yesterday (Monday, 19 August) at the shop on Calcutta Road.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We have received an allegation of robbery reported to have taken place at Chelmsford Star Coop, Calcutta Road, Tilbury, shortly before 6.30pm on Monday 19 August.

"Our enquiries continue."
