Police probing Corringham death issue brief statement

POLICE have this morning (Friday, 30 July) issued a short statement following the discovery of a body in Corringham yesterday.

Emergency services attended the car park at the junction of Lampits Hill and Giffords Cross Road.

The statement says: "We were called by colleagues in the ambulance service to Giffords Cross Road, in Stanford-le-Hope, shortly before 3.50pm on Thursday 29 July.

"We arrived and sadly found a man aged in his 40s had died.

"At the moment, we are investigating the circumstances leading up to his death."
