Police seek more information as man recovers following Chadwell area attack

A MAN remains in hospital with serious injuries after being found on land on the outskirts of Chadwell St Mary. Police are appealing for information.

Police were alerted to his discovery and injuries on Thursday (25 February) and teams of officers searched the area between the rear of Bennet's Yard off Sandy Lane across to Turnpike Lane.

A police statement says: "We are investigating after a man was found injured in Turnpike Lane.

"We were contacted shortly after 7pm on 25 February with reports a man had been admitted to hospital shortly after 4.45pm with serious head injuries.

"He remains in hospital and enquiries into the circumstances behind how he became injured.

"Anyone who was in the Turnpike Lane area between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Thursday and saw what happened is asked to contact Grays CID quoting reference 42/35547/21.
