POLICE officers in Thurrock seized a quad bike that they deemed was disrupting local rural life at the weekend.

On Sunday, 11 February, the Thurrock Community Policing Team responded to reports of a group of off-road quadbikers riding their vehicles at the nature reserve adjacent to Oliver Road, West Thurrock.

The nature reserve commonly known as Oliver Road Lagoons (sometimes known as West Thurrock Marsh) is home to a wide variety.

A statement by local police says: "This area doesn't deserve to be disturbed by off-road vehicles, or have the land disturbed or damaged by anti-social driving.

"Although the majority of the riders drove away quickly, officers were able to catch and seize this vehicle!"
