ESSEX Police have reported that its Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers recovered four motorbikes they suspect are linked to offending following patrols in Tilbury.

One of the bikes has been connected to an incident involving a weapon, and it is believed all the bikes have been ridden anti-socially around the town.

"We know the impact that nuisance motorbikes have on residents locally," said Inspector Dan Selby of Thurrock NPT.

"The noise and disruption are serious issues. Nobody wants to hear the incessant drone of engine noise or see the bikes being ridden in a dangerous or inconsiderate manner.

"Our team will continue to patrol across the town and our message to anyone riding illegally or without the correct documentation is very simple – make sure you're wearing comfortable trainers because we will take your bike and you'll be walking home."
