A LEADING director at Thurrock Council has paid tribute to the authority's staff after an annual prizegiving.

Executive Director of Place, Property and Development Claire Demmel spoke after the council' annual staff awards, celebrated at Orsett Hall.

She said: "This was a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate the incredible dedication, passion, and hard work of staff across Thurrock.

"From outstanding achievements to everyday acts that make a real difference, it was a reminder of the impact that committed individuals and teams have on our community.

"A huge congratulations to all the nominees and winners – your contributions truly deserve to be recognised.

"Events like this highlight not only excellence, but also the strong sense of teamwork and pride that runs through our organisation.
