A THURROCK tearoom is celebrating another accolade.

Last year the venue was acclaimed the best café in Essex in the Essex Eats awards.

As well as celebrating its second anniversary, Proper Vintage on William Street in Grays has been selected as a 'Travellers Choice 2026' by website Trip Advisor.

The teamroom, which has become a centre for multiple community activities, is run by Wendy Mills with the help of her husband Ian.

Wendy said: "I'm so grateful to my hard-working staff and I appreciate everything they do. I'm proper blessed to receive this award, it's a proper compliment as they call us 'the hidden gem'.

"It just goes to show you don't need to copy anyone or have celebrity status or be liked to be a successful business. You just need a great team and to keep going against all odds.

"And a proper special thanks to my biggest supporter, Ian."
