SATURDAY night (25 November) saw Purfleet-on-Thames lit up for Christmas as the community turned up to enjoy a great community evenbing on the green next to the Thames.

The turning on of the Christmas Lights by Mayor Cllr Sue Little and Purfleet Primary competition winner Franky Carter was augmented by carols, sung by Thames Opera Company.

Arts Outburst ran a lantern-making class. These were paraded around the green by the children who made them.

Adding colour and light were Lightwalkers on stilts!

Mince pies and sausage rolls were flowing with seasonal mulled wine on tap.
