THURROCK community police officers have been putting a smile on the beat in Purfleet-on-Thames.

Working under an initiative named 'Operation Smile' over the past few days in Purfleet, members of the local community policing team targeted anti-social behaviour within the Garrison Estate.

High visibility patrols were conducted around the estate, surrounding roads and along the sea wall.

A statement from the team said: "Just one of the positive results from this was a person being issued a Community Protection Notice preventing him from being on the Garrison Parade due to his high level of ASB and failure to adhere to previous warnings.

"Any breach of this CPN allows us to put him before the courts."
