Quiz night answered all charity's expectations

A BOROUGH charity that supports lonely and vulnerable people had all the answers when it came to a fundraising event in South Ockendon.

The charity quiz night hosted by Thurrock branch of Re-engage at South Ockendon Villahe Social Club proved a huge success, raising more than £1,000.

Event organiser was Paula Mullooly who said@ "Thank you all so much for supporting our lovely charity.

"Wow, wow, woe - We were delighted to have raised an amazing £1,008.

"Special thanks go to Sue for compiling the questions and to South Ockendon Village Social Club for allowing us use of their hall and to our volunteer Richard for supplying the sound system.

"Thank you to everyone who supported this event. We are all so very grateful."

The results of the Quiz:

1st Place: 77 points Mountbatten-Windsors winning a bottle of Prosecco each.

The Codgers!

Last place: 60 points The Codgers Corner winning a wooden spoon each.

The winner of the Guess the Number of Jelly Beans In The Jar was our T5 guest, Marion with 1151.

Loraine picked the 3 Bonus Ball winners who were:

1st £75 winner: Our T6 volunteer Laura

2nd £50 winner: Our T6 volunteer Sally

3rd £25 winner: Our T6 volunteer Davina.

Heads and Tails winner was our T6 volunteer Jayne receiving a £25 Amazon voucher.

The winner of the raffle for the Christmas Wreath Making and Festive Afternoon Tea for Two (which was generously donated by Wonderland Catering) was Keith Wayman.

Regional organiser Loraine Coleman added: "A huge thank you to Paula for spending many months preparing such a spectacular evening and Sue for ther questions. And to Kevin and the members of the South Ockendon Social Club for so kindly providing the hall free of charge.

"Thank you also to Wonderland Catering for the amazing raffle prize.

"The evening was a wonderful celebration of friends and family coming together to raise funds for our lovely charity. Many congratulations to all the winners.

"Thank you all so, so much for your generosity and support!"
