ENGINEERS from Essex and Suffolk Water responded to tackle a huge water spillage on a road into Tilbury this evening (Monday, 3 November).
A fountain of water several feet high shot into the air by the side of St Chad's Road, close to the junction with Feenan Highway before engineers were able to shut it down.

This evening Essex and Suffolk Water has told Nub News the incident appears to have been caused by vandalism.
A statement says: "Our ops team have advised that it was not a leak but a fire hydrant which had been operated by person unknown.
"The hydrant has been turned off and secured to stop any unauthorised use. There was no impact to supplies."
