Rachel steps up and takes top role in the force

ESSEX Police have confirmed the appointment of a new Assistant Chief Constable.

Rachel Nolan has been in post for some time, getting to know the area and shadowing the role but the force has today (Monday, 20 April, announced her appointment.

Rachel joined the Essex Force in 1998 on Canvey Island and since then, over a number of years she has undertaken a variety of positions, including District Commander roles and leading Roads Policing and Dogs.

Chief Constable BJ Harrington said: "I am pleased to have Rachel as part of our Essex Chief Officer team and I look forward to continue to work with her in her new role."

And Rachel added: "I am very pleased and proud to announce that I've been appointed as a substantive ACC in Essex.

"Thanks for the warm welcome across the county, both internally and externally - look forward to working with you!"
