Council starts to collect brown bins again on Monday

RESIDENTS in Stanford-le-Hope, Corringham, Fobbing and Orsett are reminded that Thurrock Council will be collecting their brown bins tomorrow (Monday, 20 April).

The council has reintroduced the brown bin (Garden and kitchen waste collection) on a four week cycle.

You should put out your brown bin before 5am on the Monday shown for your ward, and leave it out each day until it is collected during that week.

Cllr Aaron Watkins, cabinet member for environment said: "I am pleased to announce that we are able to introduce a limited return to garden waste collections.

"Our current resources have allowed us to bring this service back following a two-week suspension. We ask residents to try to minimise garden waste at this time and compact what they have to dispose of as much as possible to ensure it will fit in the bin."
