THERE may still be doubts about when theatres will be reopening, with Thurrock Council being particularly circumspect about the reopening of the Thameside Theatre in Grays, but local groups are beginning to get back into action in anticipation of being able to tread the boards once more.

Rare Productions will shortly be hosting two open auditions for a production of the musical Matilda planned for Grays' Thameside Theatre between 11 and 13 November.

The first audition is on Tuesday, 6 July at the 1st Grays Scout Hut on Cromwell Road (4-6.30pm 8-12 years; 6.30-8pm 13-18years) and the second, at the same venue, on Saturday, 10 July ((3.15 to 5.45pm 8-12 years; 5.45-7.5pm 13-18years).

Auditions will be held under strict Covid guidelines:
