A 49-year-old woman from Stanford-le-Hope has been barred from entering premises in King Street in the town while she awaits trial on charges of harassment and fraud.

Amiee Antonia Moss of Ellie Close, is alleged to have harassed Toyah Oughton on several ocassions at locations in Stanford-le-Hope last March and April.

She is also alleged to have attempted fraud by submitting a false invoice for £782.

Moss has pleaded not guilty to both charges and has been released on conditional bail until her trial on Friday, 13 March.

Other cases dealt with recently by South Essex Magistrates Courts include:

A CHAFFORD Hundred man who assaulted a police officer has been ordered to pay him £50 compensation.

Rory O'Hara, 34, of Boleyn Close, Chafford Hundred, admitted assaulting the officer during an incident in Grays on 15 December last year.

He was ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid community work and costs and a surcharge totalling £195.

O'Hara also admitted driving while over the permitted alcohol level and was banned for 23 months.

ALSO appearing before Basildon magistrates' Court was Martha Ernest, 39, of Corve Lane, South Ockendon, who is charged with three cases of assault, of theft from the town's Co-op store, and of possessing cannabis.

She was released on bail pending her reappearance for trial in February on condition she does not enter Smokers Paradise in South Ockendon.

A MAN who admitted three separate charges of stealing body spray from shops in Grays received a conditional discharge for 12 months.

Michael Albert Heath, 34, was also ordered to pay costs of £105 and compensation of £51.32.

TWO charges of assault against Edna Cook, 40, of Melba Gardens, Tilbury, were dismissed after no evidence was offered when the case came before magistrates.

FRANK Bale, 44, of Jesmond Road, Grays, admitted breaching a community order by failing to report to police and was fined £150, with costs of £60.

A MAN who damaged an emergency door at a Thurrock pub was fined £200. Joseph John Holden, 24, admitted damaging the door at the Woodlands Edge pub on 9 November last year. He was also ordered to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £187.

IOAHA Bratu, 22, a Romanian residing at Buckles Lane, South Ockendon, will face trial at Basildon Magistrates Court on Thursday, 6 February, charged with stealing multiple items valued at £344.74 from Sainsburys at Chafford Hundred. She was released on bail pending trial on condition she does not enter the store.

WESLEY John Scott, 40, of Oakhill Road, Purfleet, admitted driving with a controlled drug in his blood over the permitted limit. He was fined £120 and banned from driving for three years. He also has to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £152.

MARK Warwick, 44, whose address was given as the Railway Tavern, Stanford-le-Hope admitted driving a car without the consent of its owner and without a licence or insurance.

He was ordered to pay court costs and a surcharge totalling £195 and to carry out 40 hours of unpaid community work. If an when he gets a licence it will be endorsed with six points.

PAUL Stewart Thompson, 59, of Dock Road, Tilbury, admitted driving while under the influence of cannabis and was fined £120, with costs and a surcharge totalling £137. He was banned from driving for three years.

A GRAYS man who was alleged to have failed to stop for a policeman changed his plea and admitted the offence when he appeared before Basildon magistrates.

Colin Taylor, 37, of Moore Avenue, committed the offence on the A13 at Hadleigh.

He was fined £225 and ordered to pay costs and a surcharge totalling £480 and he received three penalty points.

A further charge that he had failed to stop after an accident at Benfleet on the same day, 29 December last year, was dismissed as no evidence was offered.
