A YOUNG Thurrock hairstylist and beauty therapist will be taking to the national stage to show off her skills this coming weekend.

Reanna Page, 16, is an apprentice at Buffs Hair and Beauty Bar on Southend Road in Grays and she has been shortlisted in the apprentice of the year category  at the UK HBA Awards that will take place in Birmingham.

Reanna's boss and mento is Leigh-Anne Turpin, who says: "I am such a proud business owner.

"Reanna has worked for me over the last year, she has really progressed to an amazing standard and she is flying through college and always putting herself out to further her education.

"We train in the salon every week and she now has her own clientele building up. Everyone loves her and her energy, passion and determination is outstanding and this really shines in her work.

"I felt I had to nominate Reanna for this award as she needs some recognition for her outstanding achievements.

"Reanna is always asking questions so she can improve her knowledge and skills.

"She was totally shocked when she received this nomination and her beaming smile showed to me that she 100% deserved to have this recognition for her hard work.

"We are all very proud of her."
