Glass snake?
Glass snake?

A THURROCK mum has told how her family's latest encounter with local wildlife turned into slippery moments of concern.

Angela Armitage Wilkinson from East Tilbury  has shared film of a moment a snake entered her home, before sliding off from whence it came.

Angela says: "We have lived in East Tilbury for six years and have had a number of animals in our back garden.

"We had a family of hedgehogs for two years. Our children held them we fed them they loved it.

"We had a gold colour slow worm that my children thought was a snake.

"We also had foxes regularly until we  cut down the bushes to stop them coming in our garden and we were also visited by a badger and a bat.

"We practically live in our garden in the summer our children, aged 12, eight, six and three love it. It's our safe zone and we have everything they need here.

"But yesterday we had a surprise visitor

My three-year old came running into the living room screaming 'mummy, mummy there's a snake!'

"I rushed into the playroom and there it was a huge snake making itself at home in our house! I've never seen anything like it in my life!

"Prior to this my six-year-old was playing by the shed in our garden last week and came running in hysterically, crying there's a snake.

"My husband rushed outside but we couldn't see anything, we googled some pictures to show her and think it was a grey slow worm. But to a kid it's a snake.

"I thought I would share the films to make people aware when they have young children in the garden and with the hot weather coming up with back doors open, they need to be watchful.
