TRIBUTES continue to flow more than two days after the death of celebrity Mick Norcross.

The Thurrock-boy-turned good who lived recent years of his life on the pages of tabloid newspapers and in the glare of the celebrity spotlight has left behind an army of grieving fans and friends who continue to reflect on the tragic nature of his death.

The body of Mr Norcross, 57, was found at his Bulphan home on Thursday afternoon. The story of his death broke first on Thurrock Nub News just hours after Mr Norcross had made a haunting last message on his Twitter page - which has more than half a million followers.

Reflecting on his achievements in life, the entrepreneur who came to national fame on the TOWIE reality TV show left a message that read: "At the end remind yourself that you did the best you could. And that is good enough."

There has been no official statement about the cause of his death but a police statement issued on Thursday (21 January) said: "We were called to an address in Brentwood Road, Bulphan shortly before 3.15pm on Thursday, 21 January.

"Sadly, a man inside was pronounced dead. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

In the hours that followed thousands of his social media followers and many local friends and business people paid tribute to Mr Norcross, who was renowned for his generosity of spirit and largess.

An official statement from TOWIE, the TV reality show where he cut his teeth, says: "He was hugely popular with cast, crew and the audience alike. Charming, generous and host to many of Essex's most glamorous events, Mick will be missed by us all.

"Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time."

Mr Norcorss had sold the Sugar Hut nightclub in 2019 and concentrated on his property businesses. Before his death he was developing the famous Grand Hotel in Leigh-on-Sea near Southend into 18 luxury flats, which remains unfinished.

However, newspapers and other social media platforms have been reporting today on how his lifestyle impacted on his life after he indicated he wanted to spend more time with his family and friends.
