LITTLE Thurrock Blackshots councillors Ben Maney and Joy Redsell were joined by a socially distanced group of people and some children from Woodside Academy to lay a wreath for Remembrance Day today.

A bugler played to begin and end the two minute silence.

The children placed a wreath they had made themselves from recycled materials and they read some of their own thoughts.

The wreath was laid on the newly built gardens in King Edward Drive which hold "Lest We Forget" Soldiers. The garden construction was organised by "The Friends of Blackshots" group and built by Ricky of Essex Fencing in his own time.
