CHILDREN and teachers at Quince Tree Day Nursery have been busy making some Poppies for Remembrance Day and trying to decorate the nursery with them.

The nursery has even made a Poppy wreath which they have placed at the South Ockendon Memorial near St Nicholas Church.

Also a Solar Tommy has been lit up outside the nursery which they purchased from the Thurrock Garden Centre where all the proceeds from sale goes to the RBLI Charity to support Veterans.

A nursery spokesperson said: "It's important that we teach the young children of today about how all different services sacrificed themselves for us during the war to give us a better future and we must always honour our Superhero Veterans by wearing a poppy with pride."
