Rianna leads the way as Convent students receive their results

GRAYS Convent High school is celebrating 77 per cent of its outgoing Year 11 students achieving a grade 4 in both English and maths, with 56 per cent achieving the strong grade 5 pass in both.  

A third of pupils achieved the top grades of Grade 9-7 on average.

The Convent is also celebrating what it desscribed as 'phenomenal English results with 93% at 4+ and 85% at 5+.

High pass rates of 90% were achieved in art, textiles, photography, PE, RE and media studies.

Headteacher Penny Johnson said: "Today has been a wonderful celebration of our pupils' successes.  

"All of us at the school are thoroughly delighted and proud of every single student, sharing in their excitement about these results and the next stage of their adventures in education.  

"As always it is privilege to work with these astonishing, inspiring and talented young people and to play a part in their lives.  

"Our staff give their all every year to work with them and should be rightly proud."

Head Penny Johnson and Cllr Vikki Hartstean joined in a leap of joy!

A school statement added: "Behind the statistics are some amazing individual success stories, girls who have overcome all sorts of challenges, but notable student achievements and special credit goes to, among so many others, top students Rianna with 6-9s and 4 8s, closely followed by Ope 5-9s,4-8s.

"Well-deserved congratulations go to head girl Amelie who achieved two 8s, four 7's and five 6s, while also performing her other duties across the school.

Thurrock Council's education and children's services portfolio Cllr Vikki Hartstean and senior education officer Michelle Lucas visited the Convent to pass on their congratulations.
