Riders take to borough roads as the sun shines on borough cycle marathon

AROUND 200 riders took to the rural roads of Thurrock today (Sunday, 4 June) for the annual Thurrock Cycle Marathon organised by the Rotary Club of Mar Dyke Valley.

Riders of all ages took part from tots on their parents' bikes to youngsters on their small machines and aduls riding as familiies, on their own or in groups representing local organisations.

The event was once again support by Decathlon and members of Thurrock Forward Motion team were also present. Both provided riders with checks of their machines before the start.

Mayor of Thurrock Cllr Sue Little joined the Rotary CLub president David Westcott to get things underway and Mr Westcott presented riders with medals at the completion of their rides.
