Riverside conclusion to a day of reflection, memories and tribute in Grays

AS the evening drew in on a memorable day in Grays today (Thursday, 8 may) local residents gathered on Kilverts Field by the Thames to mark the conclusion of VE commemorations with a beacon lighting.
Grays began the day with a flagraising at the town hall, followed that with a poignant service at the High Street war memorial and then veterans were treated to a fish and chip super at South Essex College by the town's Riverside Community Big Local charity.
