Road closed after major incident on Dock Road in Grays. Emergency services dealing with another incident on St Chad's Road, Tilbury.

TWO joggers are reported to have been seriously injured in an incident that happened around 8pm on Dock Road, Little Thurrock (A126) in Grays.

The road was closed around 8pm when emergency services were alerted. Police officers on the scene say it is likely to be closed until 11pm while investigations take place.

Meanwhile emergency services are reported to be dealing with another, unconnected, major incident on St Chad's Road in Tilbury, which is also blocked. police, ambulance and firefighters are reported to be in attendance there. Updates to follow.

In Little Thurrock local residents report that two runners were hit by a vehicle that left the scene. A vehicle has been recovered nearby by police.

The air ambulance arrived on scene, landing in a field belonging to Bull Meadow Farm.

It was not required for the evacuation in the injured people who were reported to have been rushed to London hospitals by road ambulances. The helicopter left around 9.45pm.
