POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision involving a vehicle and two pedestrians in Grays.

The incident was reported on Thurrock Nub News as resident and motorists were alerted to the closure of one of the area's main link roads.

A statement late on Wednesday evening (8 November) said: "Our officers were called by ambulance service colleagues to the scene of a collision in Dock Road, at the junction with Marshfoot Road, shortly after 8.15pm this evening.

"Two casualties have been taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

"Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any CCTV footage from the area to contact us, quoting incident number 1095 of 8 November.

Police officers were also involved in the recovery of what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle that crashed through railings adjacent to the Daneholes roundabout late on Wednesday evening.

It is not yet known if the incidents are connected.
